PHONOTROPIA For 10 to 14-year-olds July 6th, 4 - 6pm July 7th, 11am-1pm Part three of the Track project brings two eras of technology together. Q. Take an early 19th century optical toy and combine it with a DJ record Deck. What do you get? A. The phonotrope! Spin your drawings to life with animation & sound duo ‘Sculpture' and visual artist Amanda Francis. You will be introduced to the zoetrope, the world of vinyl records and basic animation techniques. You will be encouraged to collage crazy kaleidoscope visuals and take part in the making of a soundscape. Workshops are free Materials and equipment are provided but please do bring any sounds that we can sample, for example vinyl records, CDs, cassettes and anything else you can think of…use your imagination!
