Sokari Douglas Camp in Conversation with Sonia Boyce
About
Sculptural artist Sokari Douglas Camp will be in conversation with fellow artist Sonia Boyce. This talk will focus on her current exhibition, It's Personal a combination of both sculpture and painting.Sonia Boyce the moderator, lives and works in London and emerged as a prominent figure of the Black British Arts Movement of the 1980's and her current art practice relies on working in collaborative and participatory situations, and includes spontaneity and unrehearsed performative actions. She works across media, mainly drawing, photography, print, drawing, and sound.
Sokari Douglas Camp lives and works in London, and has had more than 40 solo exhibitions worldwide. Her work is in permanent collections at the Smithsonian Museum, Setagaya Museum (Tokyo), American Museum of Natural History, and British Museum. She works primarily in sculpture and painting.
