Collective works from the Society of Architectural Illustration

About

The first ever exhibition of collected works by members of the Society of Architectural Illustration (SAI) will go on display on 22 April 2012 at Anise Gallery, the latest addition to the South London art scene. The SAI show will include works that span techniques from traditional watercolours and pencil sketches through photography to computer generated and photo real imagery, reflecting the diversity in disciplines that the SAI encourages. Following on from its hugely successful debut show, Anise Gallery is bringing together leading artists, illustrators and photographers in a unique exhibition which demonstrates the continuing importance of illustration as an integral part of the communication process between architects and the general public. The Society of Architectural Illustration is the world's oldest and most prestigious organisation of its kind. Founded in 1975 its current Patron Ben Johnson is following in the footsteps of past luminaries including Sir Hugh Casson and Sir John Betjeman. SAI members work in all disciplines including illustration, animation, model making and photography. They provide architects, developers and designers with high-quality visual representations for use in concept design, presentations and marketing, helping to communicate ideas and bring architecture to life.
