About

Begin My Muses is the debut solo show by English painter John Woodman. The exhibition is inspired by works of literature, ranging from novels by Salley Vickers and Joan Lindsay to the Narnia books of C S Lewis. The paintings are beautiful, unnerving and, at their best, possess something of the power of the writing upon which they are based. John Woodman graduated from the Glasgow School of Art in 2006 with a sell-out degree show and has exhibited across the United Kingdom and internationally. In 2010 he was an artist in residence in the McGuffey Art Centre in Virginia, USA, and his work has been chosen for the Discerning Eye Prize.
