The Smarter Way to Buy Art - Direct From The Artists

About

This autumn, London will see the launch of a new and unique Contemporary art fair to be held at The Bargehouse on Southbank. Beginning on 25 November, The Other Art Fair will provide a platform unlike any other for artists, collectors and gallerists to connect directly. A carefully selected array of 100 emerging artists has been chosen to display works and sell them directly to the public. The fair aims to give emerging artists, as yet unrepresented, an exclusive opportunity to promote their work and ideas. As the artists will gain all the proceeds from the sales they make, collectors are being encouraged to come to the fair prepared to negotiate. It will provide them with the chance to gain insight into their purchases, as they will be able to discuss the meaning and creative process of the works with the artists. Hundreds of artists applied to participate in the fair via the website before being whittled down to 100 of the most exciting new and unsigned artists. Works on sale will range from urban designs in spray-paint by Paul Larricart to the haunting seascapes of Emma Kemp. Other highlights will include Twinkle and Tinsels wickedly satirical canvases. The Other Art Fair is not just an Art Fair, It is an art experience: The Robin Collective: Cafe du Pique-Nique: Creating a secret garden and serving picnics to entice and boggle your tastebuds and curiosity. Tom's Shoes One-for-One: Visitors to the fair will have the chance to win a pair of shoes, personalised with their own design in association with Tom's. They will be invited to draw on an origami paper shoe before the winning design is transferred onto the real article. Joffe and Pye's 99p Shop: Jasper Joffe and Harry Pye will be giving visitors to the fair a chance to purchase original paintings and handmade objects all for under a pound. The artists have created these especially for The Other Art Fair so that there is no excuse not to begin a collection. Interactive Kid Corner: In order that everyone is able to enjoy the fair fully, there will be a supervised area for children with entertainment provided. Art Under £200: Visitors will have the unique opportunity to buy work from some of the most exciting new talents for under £200. Curated Walks: For new collectors guidance will be provided in the form of tours taking place each day with tips on investing in art and building a collection.
