Royal Academy in East Anglia Exhibition

Artists of the RA Alumni working in the region. A fascinating show from a recently formed group of twenty-three former students of the Royal Academy Schools London including several well known names from the region. The wide range of work, from figurative to abstract paintings, reflects a group of professional artists who trained at different periods at the Royal Academy across a time span of 50 years. This exhibition presents a very cohesive cross section of current art activity in the UK. The East Anglia Group promotes the work of former students of the Royal Academy Schools in the region and is part of a new initiative of regional groups showing in venues across the UK. The Royal Academy was founded by Joshua Reynolds in 1763, one of the first art schools to be founded in Europe.
