About

This December, the Granary Art Gallery and Mezzanine Gallery will exhibit the works of three artists, each with an impressive track record and very much different in style from one another. Packed with vibrancy and excellent technical ability, Rob Pointon, Chris Clements and Ivan Taylor will participate in the exhibition ‘25', celebrating twenty-five years of the Weston Park Foundation which was established in 1986. The paintings and drawings on display will depict Weston Park in all of its glory, illustrating the Park, Gardens, House and portraits of staff, showing what really makes up Weston's working estate. The exhibition will also showcase the artists' own work outside of Weston, including Still Life, Landscapes and Townscapes across the two gallery spaces. Rob Pointon Rob works in oil to capture the movement, space and atmosphere of a particular place. His subject matters are very diverse, depicting urban scenes, landscapes, interiors or portraits. During the August and September, Rob has been painting scenes of inside and outside of the House at Weston Park, using intense colours and sometimes widening the perspective to create an illusion of space. Rob has an excellent reputation and following, having won award and prizes for different Art Open Competitions, including the recent Regional prize of £500 in the Halls Fine Art Open Competition at Weston Park's Granary Art Gallery. He also has work in the personal collection of HRH Prince of Wales and in the private collection of the Dowager Duchess of Devonshire. Chris Clements Since graduating in Fine Art, Chris spent three years studying classical realist drawing and painting in Florence, Italy. He spent many hours and days studying still life, portraits and figures to master the techniques used in the early 19th century. He has spent time at Weston Park, completing portraits of staff members which will be displayed during December. Chris has exhibited in Britain, Russia and in Italy, with work held in various collections including that of the BP. Now living in Shropshire he is dedicated to developing his style to produce work of the highest quality in Oils, Pencil, Charcoal and Conte. Ivan Taylor Ivan has been working as a full time painter for over twenty years, supplying galleries and undertaking private commissions. Mainly working in watercolour and oils, he loves to paint outdoors to capture the environment. Ivan has visited Weston Park to complete a series of paintings showing the variety of the Park and Gardens at Weston. Currently residing in Staffordshire, he is well known for holding the position of President of the Society of Staffordshire Artists. He has also won various awards, including the Rowland Hilder Prize at the Royal Institute watercolour open exhibition in 2006.
