As a part of the 2011 Summer Exhibition and the Art of Stories exhibition The Public are inviting local secondary schools to contribute to a special portraits project.

About

Format: 297mm wide, 420mm high - any medium. The finished work should be unframed, edge to edge, flat (no applied objects). Photos and photos of 3D objects are acceptable . The schools must contribute entries as digital scans or photos. Low res (less than 1meg jpg file) Each submission must have the filename in this format: schoolname_student name.jpg - eg Schoolname_J_Brown.jpg We will be selecting 200 portraits for display. Please submit entries to: exhibitions@thepublic.com (With School's Portrait Project as the subject) or on disc to: Graham Peet, Exhibitions Manager, The Public, New Street, West Bromwich B70 7PG by 5pm June 6th 2011 Winning entries will be notified by Monday 13 June. Winning entries will then be given A3 sheets of flame retardant foamboard for pupils to mount the finished portrait. Final versions of the winning entries must be brought to The Public by June 30th. The winning portraits will be displayed until Sept 18th.
