Luciano Zubillaga ' Music for a Missing Film
About
The third in the new series of Filmarmalade presents⦠is a screening of Luciano Zubillaga's Music for a Missing Film.Luciano Zubillaga's Music for a Missing Film, traces the spiritual and material remnants of the lost film El Huerco made in Venezuela in 1964. Exploring the aesthetics of film restoration, reconstruction and montage in the context of a fading film, with the original classical score, provides a foundation for which he creates a complex world of loss, remembrance and interrogation.
Zubillaga recently exhibited work at the Buenos Aires International Film Festival, the Buenos Aires Museum of Modern Art and at the Whitechapel Art Gallery, London. He was born in Argentina and lives and works in London.
The evening will also include a discussion between the artist Luciano Zubillaga, Steve Connolly, Andrew Fisher and Gordon Shrigley and a special 2 hour screening from 5pm ' 7pm of work in progress.
Throughout 2011 IMT Gallery will be screening the following artists film and video works published by Filmarmalade: Aukje Dekker, Kristian De La Riva, Emily Russell, Luciano Zubillaga and Ralitza Petrova.
Filmarmalade is an artist run project established by Gordon Shrigley to publish on DVD selected artistsʼ films and video works, so as to encourage a wider access to the moving image and to allow a greater understanding, through specially commissioned interviews
