Paintings in Hospitals Summer Exhibition
About
This summer Paintings in Hospitals presents 'Art in Large Doses,' a two-floor exhibition showcasing works from its London Collection.
The exhibition will be a chance to see how this 52 year-old charity continues to challenge ideas about what kind of artwork is suitable for healthcare sites with its collection of bold and contemporary works by well-known artists.
Spread across two floors at the Menier Gallery, 'Art in Large Doses' will feature work across all types of media and include a large number of new acquisitions. The ground floor gallery will show works from the charity's Main Loan Collection, including an outsize canvas by Frank Kiely and a sculpture by Patrick Hughes.
The basement gallery will be dedicated to the Children and Young People's Collection and include works by Ian Davenport and Posy Simmonds as well as a range of animated short films selected in conjunction with the Tate Youth Forum.
