SHOW OFF presents the best work by 20 up-and-coming photographers who are striving towards the full-time Foundation Degree in Professional Photography and the part-time Higher National Certificate in Photography. The group show celebrates the students' current work half way through their photography courses — an exciting formative period on their way to becoming professional contemporary photographers. Thought-provoking editorial photojournalist work is the main focus of this diverse exhibition. Kat Brinsley portraits female rugby players with her documentary ‘Playing the Field', while Natale Towell documents artists in their bedrooms in her intimate series ‘Sleeping with your Art'. With ‘The Ignored', Richard Jones presents fascinating street portraiture based around people working the streets such as human billboards, and Chris Butchart reveals the faces behind the fashion industry with his project ‘Fashion Faces'. SHOW OFF will do its name justice — a group show celebrating the first steps of talented young photographers on their journey to becoming professional photographers.
