About

Writer, poet and filmmaker Iain Sinclair visits Spike Island to discuss his upcoming publication Ghost Milk and to share his reflections on the current exhibition Theatrum Orbis Terrarum. Celebrated for his take on psychogeography, Sinclair's extensive bibliography includes Hackney, That Red-Rose Empire (2009), London Orbital (2002), and the anthology of essays London: City of Disappearances (2006) which he edited. Following on from his extraordinary and bestselling documentary fiction, Hackney, That Rose-Red Empire, Iain Sinclair sets out from the East London Olympic site - a ruin in the making - on the trail of other recent Grand Projects. From the Athens Olympic zone, empty of life but for packs of feral dogs, to the abandoned monuments of Britain's Millennium moment, Sinclair crosses territory and time like no other literary traveller, reporting back on the trouble to come. He presents a country-wide tour of grand projects, millennial follies and imposed-from-above schemes and presents portraits of visionary or subversive people clinging to the wreckage."
