About

The panel discussion will explore the ideas and influences behind the work and the direction these inspirations take for each of the artists on their journey of exploration. Chaired by Dr Rod Mengham, Curator Jesus College, Cambridge. Chris Dunseath's work is in part influenced by a curiosity about the horizons of Theoretical Physics and sculptural concerns that investigate the nature of space, mass and time. Zachary Eastwood-Bloom examines the idea of continual flux and brings together two divergent areas together, biological evolution being superseded by technological evolution and the ideas of living simultaneously, in the real material world and a digital existence. Anne Mercedes is concerned with embodying tensions and visually conveying that we live simultaneously in different scales of time and space. She explores through her work, the ideas of the constant change. André Wallace's work is about transformation, change and the passage of time. The transition of child to adolescent to adult speaks of a journey from birth to death, often encapsulated in a vessel that is suggestive of this journey.
