This summer, crafts collective 60|40 will present the third of its Starting Point Series in collaboration with Siobhan Davies Studios. 60|40 aims to encourage new thinking in the applied arts and, project by project, to expand the environment for experimental applied arts. Starting Point Series presents work made by artists in response to the Siobhan Davies Studios building and to its activities. This year 60|40 has invited three artists — Phoebe Cummings (ceramics), Julie Cook (textiles) and Michelle Shields (visual art) - to create work which explores the relationship between the studio activities and their own practice. Artists in Conversation Friday 22 July 2011, 7pm Phoebe Cummings, Julie Cook and Michelle Shields will be discussing their creative processes and the development of their exhibition.
