Cast: Donatas Banionis as Ladeinikov, Rolan Bykov as Savushkin. This is the story of a Russian spy looking for German war criminals in Europe. The was the first Russian film in the genre about a modern day spy. At the beginning of the film a real Russian intelligence officer Rudolf Abel talks about the importance of his comrades' work. The film, produced at the height of the Cold War, shows the near-equal approach of the main antagonists.
