Nerys Johnson - Flower Imagery Over Time

A retrospective of Nerys Johnson's work, Keeper in Charge of Art at the DLI Museum and Durham Art Gallery between 1970 and 1989, and on the tenth anniversary of her death. The exhibition will focus on the development of Nerys' style by looking in detail at particular types of flowers which recur in her work. It will include works in various media - charcoal and ink drawings, watercolours, prints and oils. Running alongside Nerys Johnson's show will be a new commission from an emerging artist exploring the use of colour - a distinctive feature of Nerys' work.
