Anne Bean presents Wake a series of six mini-residencies.

About

Artists: Anne Bean, William Cobbing, David Cotterrell, Carl Von Weiler, Rachel Lowe, Bronwen Buckeridge WAKE at Dilston Grove and ARCHIPELAGO at Cafe Gallery present a programme of installation and performance related work conceived and curated by London based artist Anne Bean. The two spaces, located five minutes walk away from each other across Southwark Park, will be home to an ongoing programme of events, installations and performances created by up to 16 artists who will work and/or reside in one of the two spaces from between one and six weeks. WAKE will entail six artists inhabiting the Dilston Grove space sequentially in a series week-long mini-residencies. At the end of each week the artist's sculptural engagement with the space will culminate in a performance or installation that will be open to the public. Each artist will also choose the artist that is to succeed him/her and leave behind the materials. LAST FRIDAYS EVENT: 24/06/11 Late night viewing of Wake curated by Anne Bean. WAKE (visible tracks of turbulence) interrogates materiality itself, as well as notions of ownership, of collective process and the transmission of ideas. 6.30pm - 8.00pm Dilston Grove Southwest corner of Southwark Park London SE16 2DD FREE
