WHERE TO BEGIN showcases the work of ten artists. All featured artists are part of the Studio Upstairs Arts Collective. With each moment we live, we create the stories of our lives. We gather tales, create worlds and make memories. Studio Upstairs Arts Collective is now proud to present WHERE TO BEGIN, a detailed study of ten lives and ten stories where the viewer is invited into the secret world of each artist. The carefully constructed and engaging context of the selected works of WHERE TO BEGIN demonstrates Studio Upstairs' commitment to supporting artists with a different vision. Studio Upstairs is a therapeutic arts community dedicated to exploring complex human emotions through the creation of art. Situated in the Dalston Culture House, Gillett Square, Studio Upstairs has continually played a part in the cultural renaissance in Hackney. WHERE TO BEGIN is curated by Charlotte Meddings and is the opening chapter to a three part series in which groups of ten artists are brought together to explore their past, present and future.
