Of the motivations behind WHAT NOW 2011 Gill Clarke
(co-director Independent Dance) says:
âWHAT NOW offers a glimpse of the artistic ideas and practices of some of our most promising dance graduates alongside mature artists. It represents a burgeoning field of work from artists who are choosing to think and ask questions through and of movement and the body, with a disregard for traditional artform boundaries.
Following the successful WHAT NOW Festival in 2009 celebrating experimental work by a new generation of dance artists, and What if⦠2010 with a focus on work for screen, WHAT NOW 2011 returns the spotlight to current choreographic thinking in diverse forms by young and more established artists.'
