About

Chien-Ni Hung is a Taiwanese artist whose work is inspired by the visual aesthetics of narrative cinema and theatre focussing in particular on surreal encounters. She creates worlds within her films that often seem to move between reality and fiction. Using constructed sets and scenarios. Chien-Ni creates narratives and fictional characters. During her time at Chinese Arts Centre, Chien-Ni will be developing these constructed sets within the residency space, exploring initial research and ideas relating specifically to her Taiwanese background. She hopes to work with an open door policy, inviting local artists and audience members to come along and discuss her work throughout her residency. If any local amateur or professional actors/actresses and performing artists would like to take part in Chien-Ni's film then please do get in touch as she is eager to work with local performers on this new exciting project! Just ring the programme coordinator on 0161 832 7271 or email on elizabeth.wewiora@chinese-arts-centre.org for more details.
