The Department of Wrong Answers is the first department within our new programme for 2011: The Institute of Beyond. Artists Rob Filby, Laure Prouvost & Francesco Pedraglio, Giles Round and Cally Spooner will be in residence at Wysing for six weeks exploring the concept of wrong answers. Join them for a series of special public events:
THE CONCEPT OF WRONG ANSWERS
Saturday 26 February: 2-4pm
Francesco Pedraglio, curator and writer, leads a discussion on this topic.
ON STRUCTURE AND SPACE
Wednesday 9 March: 6-8pm
A discussion, chaired by Dr Wendy Pullan, Senior Lecturer in the History and Philosophy of Architecture at Cambridge University, exploring ideas of space, confinement and borders with artists, Ansuman Biswas and Céline Condorelli. Organised by artist, curator and writer Sonya Dyer. Jointly commissioned by a-n and Axis.
THE EVOLUTION OF EMOTIONS
Thursday 17 March: 6-8pm
A presentation by Dr Philip Barnard, of the Medical Research Council's Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit, Cambridge. Dr Barnard's research explores how memory, attention, language, body states and emotion work together in the normal healthy, human mind. This event is part of National Science & Engineering Week.

IMPROBABLE QUESTIONS
Saturday 19 March: 10am 4pm
Artist, Julie Myers, leads a drop in workshop on improbable questions, as part of the Cambridge Science Festival. This event is held at the Arts School Café on the New Museums Site, Cambridge.
