About

PRIVATE VIEW: THURSDAY 13TH JANUARY 6PM - 2AM - FREE - ENTRY + COMPLIMENTARY DRINKS AND MUCH MORE.. Peter Anderson is back to the Bookclub and this time he prefers to make rather than take photographs. Known for his portraits of the famous and infamous of the rock world which have hung next to works by Warhol, Basquiat and Banksy . He is now exhibiting a set of photograms. In the experimental spirit of early art photography characterised by Man Ray and his Rayograms. These photograms are large 5foot x 4 foot handmade silver gelatin prints using traditional wet darkroom techniques. The photograms champion the idea of an urban anthropology. They are assembled from the faded icons ,flotsam ,jetsam, detritus and wildlife of our Pop culture using now almost obsolete industrial Devere and Durst enlargers. The found objects used in the photograms are from the immediate surroundings just as the rock portraits of Joe Srummer TomWaits Mick Jagger etc. were inspired by their surroundings. Photogram is a photographic image made without a camera by placing objects directly onto the surface of a photo-sensitive material such as photographic paper and then exposing it to light. Photograms were used in the 20th Century by a number of photographers. This technique intended to stimulate creativity... RSVP to : chimera.production@gmail.com
