About

How subversive is the social uselessness of art? How could art play a more directly functional role in culture? Dean Kenning and Gavin Grindon challenge the idea that art should be allowed to take critical positions safe from any real intervention. Participants include Gail Day, James Marriot & Jane Trowell (PLATFORM) Peter Osborne, John Roberts, Dmitry Vilensky (Chto Delat), Marina Vishmidt, Stephen Wright and Artur Zmijewski. In association with the Stanley Picker Gallery Public Lectures on Art. 'Bike Bloc,' photo courtesy of Robert Logan Concessions and members are kindly asked to show proof or ID when collecting tickets on the day. Whitechapel Gallery Patrons, Associates and Exhibition Patrons can reserve up to two free tickets to public events by e-mail to tickets@whitechapelgallery.org.
