About

Nicholas Humphrey is a theoretical psychologist, based in Cambridge, internationally known for his work on the evolution of human intelligence and consciousness. His new book Soul Dust will be launched at GV Art. The book presents a startling new theory. Humphrey argues that consciousness is nothing less than a magical-mystery show that we stage for ourselves inside our own heads. This self-made show lights up the world for us and makes us feel special and transcendent. The book launch will be accompanied by an exhibition of paintings of the human brain, by artist Susan Aldworth, who's work features on the Soul Dust cover.
