The Golden Age of Formula 1

About

Proud Camden presents The Golden Age of Formula 1 — an exhilarating cross-section of photographs depicting Formula 1 by the sport's foremost photographer, Rainer Schlegelmilch. Sixty years on from the inaugural Formula 1 World Championship, Proud Camden will be afforded exclusive access to the some of the most iconic and rare images in motor-sporting history. A legend in motorsports photography, Schlegelmilch's extensive archive of over 350,000 images is the largest and most sought after of its kind. Having meticulously documented the world of Formula 1 since the early 1960s, his work tells of the thrilling and fast-paced life both off and on the race circuit. Schlegelmilch's work skilfully documents the spirit of racing with a blend of dramatic race shots and expressive portraits; capturing the preparations of the drivers and their teams, the cars and the atmosphere by the track. With a career that has spanned five decades, Schlegelmilch's huge photographic archive is a testimony to his passion for Formula 1. His work has been published in more than twenty books on Formula 1 as well as luxury motor brands including Aston Martin, Ferrari and Porsche. Proud Camden celebrates the history of this exciting and dynamic sport in an exhibition from the most well-renowned F1 photographer, Rainer Schlegelmilch. This exhibition is launched in conjunction with the publication of the book ‘The Golden Age of Formula 1' by teNeues (£60 RRP).
