New Film & Video Works from the Arts Council Collection

About

'Now Showing 2' is the second exhibition of newly acquired film and video works from the Arts Council Collection. This series presents six new works that provide insight into some of the current concerns of artists working with film and video art today. The collection features a diverse range of work from award winning artists Margaret Salmon, Mark Neville and Simon Martin, Spartacus Chetwund, Iain Forsyth, Jane Pollard and Torsten Lauschmann. This exhibition is a testament to the wealth of possibilities offered by the moving image and to the innovation of the contemporary artists working within this field. The six works featured will form a mini season, with a different film to be featured each week during the six week duration of the exhibition. 11 - 16 September; Torsten Lauschmann - Pandora's Ball, 2008. 17 - 22 September; Simon Martin - Carlton, 2006. 23 - 28 September; Margaret Salmon - PS, 2002. 29 September - 4 October; Spartacus Chetwynd - The Walk to Dover, 2005-7 5 - 10 October; Mark Neville - Fancy Pictures, 2008. 11 - 17 October; Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard - Walking After Acconci (Redirected Approaches), 2005. A Hayward Touring Exhibition from the Southbank Centre, London on behalf of Arts Council England.
