Sustainable energy explored through stunning photography
About
Leading East London photographic gallery theprintspace will, this August, present a truly amazing collection of photography from acclaimed contemporary reportage photographer Toby Smith.During the harsh winter of 2010 Toby Smith spent three months in the Scottish Highlands beginning an ongoing project to document the renewable energy industry.
Above ground Smith captured dramatic panoramas, vast arctic-like scenery and alluring night images lit by the moon and stars. Below ground he explored hidden underground tunnels, engineering marvels and colossal turbine halls.
Now, for the first time, Smith exhibits a selection of his images from the initial phase of 'The Renewables Project' which celebrates the union of striking landscapes and sustainable energy structures.
theprintspace gallery is the perfect venue for such unique and interesting photography, hoping to present a relationship that will stimulate discussion and debate, drawing attention to a growth industry at the forefront of global sustainability.
The exhibition runs from Friday 20th August at theprintspace gallery on 74 Kingsland Road. The private view will be on Thursday 19th August from 7pm til 10pm and refreshments will be provided. Admission free.
