About

William Heath Robinson (1872 -1944) who was known as ‘The Gadget King' in the 1930s is most widely remembered for his wonderful humorous drawings. His illustrations for Poetry by Poe and Kipling, Andersen's Fairy Tales, A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Water Babies and Perrault's Fairy Tales, achieved classic status around the world and placed him in the rank of Rackham and Dulac, This exhibition offers the chance to see a selection of original drawings and paintings representing all aspects of his art, the majority from the collection of The William Heath Robinson. This exhibition as been organised in association with The Imaginative Book Illustration Society
