About

Light Dreams features the work of two London-based artists, Neda Dana-Haeri and Virginia Waterhouse, who use watercolour to depict light, cultural memory and the sublime. In her stark, deceptively simple paintings, Neda Dana-Haeri is inspired by Persian poetry and Sufi philosophy, exploring concepts of cultural memory. Virginia Waterhouse finds much of her inspiration in music and poetry. She works mainly in inks and watercolour, creating richly coloured and multi-layered images. For the past year she has been exploring Paradise Lost, developing an abstract language through which to convey the vivid drama and the 'darkness visible' of Milton's vision.
