Artists sell work direct to the public at one of London's best loved art fairs

About

Over 150 specially curated painters, sculptors, printmakers and photographers will once again have the chance to sell work directly to the public at the 19th Battersea Contemporary Art Fair. Established in1992 the fair offers an affordable way for professional artists to sell direct to the art buying public and for people with an interest in art to sample the best in contemporary art works. Prices range from £40 to £4,000 and each stand at the fair acts as an individual exhibition for the artist with no commission charge for sales. The fair offers art lovers a range of art works to suit all tastes and budgets and remains the largest artists' art fair in the UK, a place for exhibitors to develop their careers as commercial artists. Artists at the fair include Central St Martin's graduate Will Teather, who is also Norfolk's Anteros Arts Centre artist in residence, he will display his popular series of magical realist paintings. Will Rochfort, who is an official artist for the London Olympic and Paralympic Games 2012, is exhibiting his illustrations and oil paintings. Bristol based artist Alice Harfield returns to the fair with her distinctive three dimensional acrylics of bright floral works and Chelsea College of Art trained painter Aynur Karaman will be selling her abstract works on canvases. Glass artist Vic Bamforth brings his one-off pieces, created with a combination of Graal glass-blowing and painting techniques, to the fair and former Yugoslavian sculptor Zeljko Ivankovic exhibits his impressive outdoor sculptures made of stone and metal.
