Tony Bevan: new painting installation 

Self Portrait After Messerschmidt, Tony Bevan, 2009

Tony Bevan has produced three monumental new paintings as an installation specifically for Gallery 2.

Inspired by an encounter with the Giant Buddha of Leshan in China and his ongoing interest in the 'character heads' of the sculptor Franz Xaver Messerschmidt, these new paintings continue Bevan's investigation of self-portraiture in his work.
