'the great escape'

About

As part of Vyner Street Monthly 'First Thursdays', a night of open galleries and a number of private views, The Empire Gallery will be hosting Rob Reed's 'the great escape'. A solo exhibition of works by painter Rob Reed, which focuses on existential escapism from the restraints of the modern world. Seeking the idyllic solitary environments in the common place. The exhibition takes a revisionist path back to the emotional expression of ‘Romanticism', not so much as... contextualizing such traditions to the present but showing a continuation for the Romantic traditions for the re-evaluation of the scenery and discovering its symbolic qualities. Considering the past in a new light to discover new perspectives on what is happening today, and to characterize the social and environmental concerns of today's modern society. private viewing: 4th March 6:00pm - 9:00pm The Empire Gallery 30 Vyner Street London, E2 9DQ Open Wednesday - Sunda 12-6pm daily Monday and Tuesday by appointment. N.B. Please call ahead if you wish to view a specific piece of artwork or work by by an artist
