At this special event writer, lecturer and photographer Stephen Bull will be launching his new book Photography and talking about the issues photography faces in the new decade.

About

Stephen says ‘each day of this new decade (whatever it is called), we are likely to encounter more photographs than ever before. Photographs are seen in print and viewed on screens. Among other things, they can be art to analyse, advertising to persuade us to part with cash, celebrity images to aspire to, and Facebook snapshots to entertain or embarrass us.‘ To accompany the launch of his book Photography, published by Routledge, Stephen will show and discuss a selection of photographs in order to examine the nature and culture of photography in the second decade of the 21st century. Following the talk there will also be an opportunity to ask Stephen questions and a book signing. Refreshments will be available.
