About

Introducing the fifth in the series of The Empty Gallery Interviews: A live conversation piece in which art writers Claire Nichols and Altair Roelants will talk with curator in residence Anna-Catharina Gebbers about her upcoming curatorship of the exhibition In and Out of Place. This interview will offer an insight into the methodology that informs the curator‘s response to 176 / Zabludowicz Collection; tracing Gebbers‘ evolving relationship to the space and the collection in the lead up to installing the show. The Empty Gallery Interviews make public the anticipatory dialogue that exists between the exhibitor and the exhibition space. Putting into practice a vocal ordering of the visual, the interviews consider what it might mean to perform or translate the curator‘s or the artist‘s response to the site. The series is ongoing and will probe the rituals associated with making, exhibiting and viewing within a host of gallery spaces across London.
