About

Art in Mind 7 January - 18 January 2010 In continued support of emerging artists, The Brick Lane gallery is excited to present its next selected group show 'Art in Mind', opening on the 6th January and running through to the 18th January. The exhibition will include various styles of paintings from ten talented emerging artists. Compared to previous exhibitions, we bring together on this occasion a series of inspirational paintings, reflecting various cultures and emotions rendered in diversified strokes and techniques. British artist Francesca McLeod is inspired by Jurgen Tellerstyle images directly onto the unusual medium of aluminium, creating a contrast between metallic finish and rich paint textures. Furthermore, the Belgium artist Frederik Schnieders projects personal memories into his intimate female portraits. However, you can also see different styles, such as Jeff Roland's colourful tribal style paintings full of vitality. On the other side of the gallery, the Italian artist Vincenzo Baldini combines text and images within his large-scale portraits, which stand out from an intense black background, which then go on to the rhythmic minimal paintings by British artist Kelvin Halloran. The exhibition features works by Francesca McLeod, Vincenzo Baldini, Achille Soardi, Colin Mc Kenzie, Monica D'Agosto, Kelvin Halloran, Ravi Drepaul, Jonathan Brown, Jeff Roland and Frederik Schnieders. Art in Mind is an ongoing group exhibition organized by The Brick Lane Gallery, offering emerging artists a platform to showcase their work to a fresh and growing London audience.
