Desire, chance and uncertainty expressed in geometric abstraction. Fortunately, life often confounds our desires and expectations, events being determined less by reason than by chance, accident and error. Despite their evidently abstract and geometric form, these recent paintings, made with watercolour on gesso panels, entertain the notion that the best, most valuable and most real things might also be the most unaccountable.
