About

Art in Mind The Brick Lane Gallery 25 November — 7 December 2009 Private View 25th November 2009, 6:30pm-8:30pm In continued support of emerging artists, The Brick Lane gallery is excited to present its next selected group show ‘Art in Mind', opening on 25th November and running through 7th December. The exhibition will include painting and photo collages from eleven talented emerging and award-winning artists, with original artworks starting from just £40. Following from the tradition, the exhibition brings together a group of geographically and philosophically diverse artists, showing different cultures and emotions in their paintings. The vibrant colour on the canvas reflects on different issues in modern society from religion to nostalgia of the past. The styles of the paintings show the diversity, varying from portrait, landscape to abstract expression. However, the works here can also be seen as self-portraits of the artists, mirroring the status of mind, deep inside the human condition. The exhibition features brilliant works by Matthew On, Mattia Moro, Bo Mijin, Natalia O'Neill, Anil Nighawan, Darren Udaiyan, Julian Mullineux, Mikele Garro, Masuma Sultana, Emma Pyrah and Modica Fabio. ‘Art in Mind' is an ongoing group exhibition organized by The Brick Lane Gallery, offering emerging artists a platform to showcase their work to a fresh and growing London audience. The Brick Lane Gallery is situated on East London's famous Brick Lane, exhibiting an eclectic variety of contemporary and street art by British and International artists, focusing mainly on emerging and mid-career artists. The gallery is available to hire for solo or group exhibitions as well as events.
