About

Artist The Artful Dodger (A Dee) in collaboration with a group of ‘young creatives' takes on Iniva's annual window commission, presenting The Once and Future Britain at Rivington Place. The new installation responds to world politics, future history and popular culture. It transports us to a Britain in 2024. This is a Britain where cultural and religious holidays have been banned in favour of a more ‘socially cohesive' nation. The Once and Future Britain acts as a pre-emptive strike against a potential establishment, a foreboding monument to freedom of expression and the dangers of its erosion. The Once and Future Britain creates conversations with a new generation of artists. The Artful Dodger has selected a group of 18-25 year olds from across London to articulate their vision of a future Britain in light of current political situations. Using stencils, aerosol painting, photography and graphic design they transform the vast window overlooking Rivington Street. SEE RIVINGTON PLACE PAGE ALSO
