Raymond Gun is a new organization set up to promote emerging artists, whilst exploring new ways of showcasing art beyond the traditional gallery format. PLATFORM is an open submission competition aimed at early career artists. One of our key aims is to promote artists regardless of their backgrounds; this event is intended for any artist trying to become established (not just recent graduates and students). Selected artists will participate in an exhibition at DegreeArt.com on Vyner St - one of the world's major contemporary art centres - in September: Exhibition runs daily: 12-6pm, 23rd-27th September Private View: 24th September, 6-9pm The organization's name derives from Ray Gun"- the pseudonym used by the artist Claus Oldenburg when he turned his studio into a shop for a series of exhibitions in the early 1960s.
