Tales of Folk

About

Asian women from Waltham Forest's Community Day Services show their work at Barbican Arts Group Trust's artWorks ProjectSpace, Blackhorse Lane Studios E17 6AA. The works were made during workshops run by Inky Cuttlefish Studios, E17. Works from the workshops were first displayed at TATE Modern in July - part of Learning Disability Week. The ongoing works are now showcased as part of the E17 Art Trail and Blackhorse Lane Open Studios. The theme for the Art Trail exhibition is 'Tales of Folk' and includes work that the participants worked on with facilitators exploring folk tales and myths as a way of expressing themselves and enabling them to experiment with hands-on art techniques such as: collage, stamping, mono-printing, stencilling, drawing & painting and stitching. The exhibition will be launched by Councillor Geraldine Reardon
