About

THE FOUNDLING is a new video and sound work commissioned by Gill Hedley, for the Foundling Museum's contemporary art strand by the installation artist Terry Smith. Using found sounds and images, as well as deconstructed scores by Handel and Vivaldi, THE FOUNDLING plays with the idea of the hidden and the lost. In this year celebrating Baroque music, the piece will acknowledge the active contributions that both Handel and Vivaldi made to institutions in Venice and London, respectively, dedicated to giving vulnerable and destitute children a second chance at life.
