About
NICHOLAS TOLLEY FOOTBALLER PORTRAITS features life-size portraits of some of the sport's most iconic international personalities. After graduating from Art School in 1980, Nicholas Tolley hit the world of sports portraits in a seminal exhibition in Sloane Square in 1984. Themed around horse-racing, his paintings of jockeys, trainers and racing scenes were immediately heralded among the best of the genre. Several more exhibitions followed at Sloane Square, then Chelsea, and outside London at Hungerford, Stow-on-the-Wold, Newmarket and Deauville.
Well-known patrons include Sheikh Mohammed, Lady Tavistock, Charles Wacker III, Lord Grimthorpe, Sir Micheal Stoute, the late Robert Sangster, Sir Peter O'Sullevan, Ronnie Corbett, Lester Piggott, Pat Eddery, Graham Cowdrey, James Alexander Gordon and many others.
The exhibition runs daily from Monday, 17 August to Saturday, 29 August, 9.30am - 5.30pm. Please contact the gallery or the artist if you would like to arrange a personal private viewing.
