About

The exhibition will reveal the cutting-edge of GPO (General Post Office) poster design from 1930 — 1960, featuring work by leading designers such as Tom Eckersley, Edward McKnight Kauffer and Pat Keely. It will explore how the GPO used design both to address public perceptions of a government service and for commercial purposes, promoting its business and spurring people to action. Photographs and other archive material will be used to contextualise the posters within the graphic design.
