Sculpture in the Park 2009

Laura Ford is showing five powerful bronze sculptures entitled 'Armour Boys' as part of our annual Sculpture in the Park programme in the grounds of the DLI Museum and Durham Art Gallery through the Summer. Armour Boys reminds us of the quiet after the storm, five small bronze armour clad figures lie scattered, lifeless, limp and twisted. The 'playing dead' of children's war games becomes all too real and we are reminded not only of the plight of child soldiers, but of the vulnerability of all children around the world.
