About
Emerging artists from Newcastle University will be displaying their work to the public in the annual Master of Fine Art exhibition opening on the 22nd of August. The studios of the University?s Fine Art department and Newcastle?s Hatton Gallery will be filled with a range of exciting multi-disciplinary work including painting, video-installation, sculpture, photography and animation. The exhibition will be a combination of Degree Show work by Second Year MFA students, and interim work by First Year MFA, and PhD students.
Visitors will be able to experience the vibrantly colourful installation work of Annie O?Donnell, who recently exhibited ?Napper?, a collaboration with The Institute of Neurosciences at ?The Bridge?, Tynemouth Station. Annie grew up in the north east, and is particularly influenced by the plastic and chemical industries located near her home town, Billingham. Sarah Tulloch will exhibit a multi-screen video-installation, made from footage and interviews gathered at Moorbank, Newcastle University?s Botanic Gardens. Sarah will also be exhibiting at ?Kinopixel Reel#2: Fragments/Out-takes? in Coventry,
Oct 09. Brazilian artist Eduardo Leonardi, will show painted geometric panels which reveal an unorthodox organic quality.
