Coral is cradled in miniature stitch, sculpted from leather and fused in fabric to provide a panoply of costume from miniature to massive in this exhibition by Anna Cocciadiferro. Developed in collaboration with the University of Essex Coral Reef Research Unit, Cocciadiferro's concept-based costume can be understood through wearing and function. As the coral world faces possible extinction, it is providing us with significant advances in science and invaluable resources. A wealth of compounds is being discovered in this subterranean medicine cabinet which has formed our geological landscape for 60 million years.
