Double celebration: Chris Gollon's Stations of the Cross and book launch Sara Maitland's book on Gollon's paintings

About

Double celebration 6 - 8.30pm on Thursday 26th March in St John on Bethnal Green. A wonderful celebration of both the permanent installation of Chris Gollon's 14 Stations of the Cross and the launch of Sara Maitland's book 'Stations of the Cross' (published by Continuum, London & New York), which is entirely inspired by Chris's paintings. The Bishop of London will attend, as will Chris Gollon and Sara Maitland. Please note it is not a religious service (that's at 10am on Good Friday), but a private view, book launch and general celebration with wine served. It's been a 9-year journey and the 26th will be a great moment in London's art history, since Chris's paintings will transform St John's into a major visitor attraction in East London. >From Saturday 28th March St John's will be open Mon-Thurs 12-2pm, and Saturdays 10-1pm for visitors to see the site-specific Chris Gollon paintings set in Sir John Soane's splendid architecture. IAP Fine Art, until 2nd of May, is also showing the last remaining Studies for the Stations of the Cross that are available, please see www.iapfineart.com for details (click the What's On page). Once more, I hope you will join us for a very uplifting evening on 26th March, and a first viewing of both Sara's book and Chris's wonderful series of paintings all finally in situ. It will be quite a night, so do join us, and share this exciting and historic moment.
