Double celebration 6 - 8.30pm on Thursday 26th March in St John on Bethnal Green. A wonderful celebration of both the permanent installation of Chris Gollon's 14 Stations of the Cross and the launch of Sara Maitland's book 'Stations of the Cross' (published by Continuum, London & New York), which is entirely inspired by Chris's paintings. The Bishop of London will attend, as will Chris Gollon and Sara Maitland. Please note it is not a religious service (that's at 10am on Good Friday), but a private view, book launch and general celebration with wine served. It's been a 9-year journey and the 26th will be a great moment in London's art history, since Chris's paintings will transform St John's into a major visitor attraction in East London. >From Saturday 28th March St John's will be open Mon-Thurs 12-2pm, and Saturdays 10-1pm for visitors to see the site-specific Chris Gollon paintings set in Sir John Soane's splendid architecture.
