with work by Abigail Box Private View: 26 June 6-9pm RSVP Chantelle@DegreeArt.com +44 (0) 20 8980 0395 Open event: 04 July 6-9pm The paintings in the approaching exhibition, Floored, will look at how composition and structure within an image might guide an understanding of the potential for space and direction within the canvas, by purposefully setting out to be structurally incorrect, somewhat awry. Backgrounds and foregrounds become confused as certain perspectives don't correlate with one another and in other cases the ground has lost its balance resulting in making the contents appear as though they might perhaps slide from the canvas in… I'm not sure in which direction. This misalignment continues through the contrasting themes and subjects - inside and outside joke around in a manner made simple by copy and pasting - massive shapes of tiger lay next to glossy house plants and wild stripes clash against kitchen tiles and swaying parquet flooring. 39 Great Windmill Street, London Open Thursday 1-7pm & by appointment only
