Two one-day workshops at Kestle Barton (Sunday 25 May and Tuesday 27 May) that will focus on local green building techniques and relate directly to Paul Chaney's summer exhibition at Kestle Barton, Lizard Exit Plan (26 July — 14 September 2014). The workshops will be led by artist Paul Chaney and other experts. Participants use locally available materials to build small structures, eventually becoming the artwork Encampment #1. On Saturday 16th August, as part of the second Paul Chaney event in our programme — Off-Grid Weekend, participants of the camp building workshops will be invited to come back to Kestle Barton with their friends and family. This will be an evening of fireside cooking, chat with the artists and friends, and actually camping overnight in the structures that were made in the May workshops. Participants 14 years and older. Limited spaces available, please book in advance.
