About

Jacqueline Watt will be discussing her work, examples of which will be accompanying the Matisse: Drawing with Scissors exhibition, at the Lime Tree Gallery, Fort William on Saturday 3rd May. This is a rare opportunity to gain insight in to the life and work of a successful working Scottish artist. Having been awarded the Charles Rennie Mackintosh Residency in Collioure, France, Jacqueline's works boasts influences of the area, a place where world renowned Fauvist artist Henri Matisse spent time cultivating his craft. So much so, that Collioure professes to be the "Birth place of Fauvism". Jacqueline will explore her links with the Catalan town, how her works relates to that of Matisse and will offer further insight through sketchbooks and a painting demonstration. As a regular lecturer at Leith School of Art and the National Galleries, Jacqueline's talk is a must for art enthusiasts. Limited spaces - please contact us to book a ticket.
